3 BEST WILDLIFE PHOTOS FOR 2002
Wildlife Photographer of the Year winner announced
Judges have chosen the best wildlife photographer of 2002. Angie Scott took the title for her shot of an African elephant family watching a grey heron in Zambia.
An exhibition of 101 winning and commended photographs will form a major exhibition at The Natural History Museum in London from Saturday. The annual BG Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition, organised by BBC Wildlife Magazine and The Natural History Museum and sponsored by BG Group, is now in its nineteenth year.
It's open to both amateur and professional photographers, and is the most successful event of its kind in the world. It attracts over 18,500 entries from more than 60 countries. The collection of images will tour the world after its stint in London.
The range of subjects in this year's competition includes striped mackerel feeding, juvenile rats drinking from a water butt, a hawk eagle grappling with a monitor and a quiver tree after sunset.
